Manufacturing Day, which is October 7th this year, began with one very important goal - to bring the modern manufacturing industry into the mainstream.
MFG DAY's challenge is finding ways to educate the public about a dynamic industry they do not understand. The majority of Americans believe that manufacturing is an important sector of the US economy, but far less of them agree that the industry can provide clean, safe, rewarding careers.
Last year, 2300 companies across the U.S. and Canada hosted MFG DAY events, including two Tribute customers, Behco-MRM and MFP Automation Engineering. We encourage more companies to host an event this year to help educate students and their parents about the advantages of a career in manufacturing and distribution.
The Manufacturing Institute, a co-producer of Manufacturing Day, tracks opinions of the industry with their annual Public Perception Index.
If you're interested in hosting an event whatever size or shape, MFG DAY has a host of great resources aimed at helping you get started, tool kits, open house tips, flyers, banners and more.
